* Circumventing an access control mechanism

Last night, the key snapped off in the lock of my bike, stranding it in town and leaving me to walk home.

(Fortunately I got back and donned my Big Coat™ before the skies opened wide and threw down some biblical quantities of rain. Which is kinda fun, if you don't care because know you're about to get changed into dry clothes.)

So, this lunchtime, armed with a small pair of wirecutters, I got to spend an exciting half-hour picking up new and valuable skills in the field of bicycle security countermeasures.

The whole time, sat on the pavement of a busy city-centre street, only one person asked me if it was my bike.
