* Chez Canis
Yes, I have moved, and got broadband installed. Whee!
Features: Raised up from ground level. High ceilings. Wood floors. Plenty of space. New furniture (many Ikeans died to bring you this interior design). It feels light and airy in the morning, and warm and cosy in the evening, and I'm finally getting stuff unpacked now I have places to unpack it to.
Also, the goddamn electricity works, and when I look out of a window down onto the street, I see people who are wearing clothes of a non-tracksuit nature, and who aren't shouting abuse at each other. The kitchen's large enough and with facilities such that Scary & I can both be productive in it at once without treading on each other's toes. Commuting is quicker and easier. There are much better shopping facilities close by. All in all FTW!
Downsides? Hmm, not much so far. There's more traffic noise, as it's on a main road, but I grew up with that, and it has a certain constancy and lack of emotional content, so you can tune it out vastly preferable to screaming chav noise and angry dogs. And I have a tendency to tiptoe around the place because I worry about pissing off the neighbours by clunking around in my shitkicking boots. I can live with these.
