* Three Links

There are sometimes claims, by political commentators or random individuals, that referring to 'sharp interrogation techniques' as 'torture' is overblown, or exaggeration. If you believe this, please read the first two links:

On what really happened at Abu Ghraib, the subsequent lies, misdirections and coverups — as told in interview by the General who investigated it: The General's Report.

On what happened to Ahmed Errachidi in Guantanamo.

And as to how this is allowed to continue...

On Watergate, and why it would have been swept under the carpet today: Watergate's 35th Anniversary.

* Wake me up when it's all over

Well, I am exhausted by a combination of hayfever, mass socialising, a constant blast of freezing air because 20% of the aircon outlets on the floor point directly at my desk, and the fact that I have to move house yet again.

(Update: turns out I was sicker than that, and spent the last couple days largely crashed out in a haze of fatigue and snot. Feeling slightly better now, but not exactly perky; dunno if I'm going back to work tomorrow or not.)
